Abstract :
We have studied the out of equilibrium evolution of the hydrogen-bonded molecular compound 2-biphenylmethanol quenched into a
glassy state. 2-biphenylmethanol was quenched from a high temperature above the melting point to a temperature below its glass transition
temperature and a waiting time dependence of the entropy at the glass transition was studied. It was found that entropy relaxation start being
appreciable for the time spent in the glassy state more then 60 min and is essentially constant for t , 60 min. Memory effect also has been
found.
Structural relaxation will most likely associate with the variations in the size of hydrogen-bonded complexes as well as in the hydrogen
bonds length during waiting time.
