Abstract :
A detailed investigation of the absorption and emission characteristics of bichromphoric compounds: 9-phenyl-9-fluorenol and
2-dimethylamino-9-phenyl(40-dimethylamino)-9-fluorenol was carried out in non-polar and polar solvents at different temperature. The
spectral data were used to obtain the outer-sphere solvent reorganization energy, louter, and the intramolecular reorganization energies: l i
(associated with the vibrations for which hn!kT) and li (hnOkT). They were compared with the destabilization energy Edest. The results of
steady-state and kinetic investigations as well as the data of quantum chemical calculation confirm the presence of the two a and b different
conformers in the ground and excited state for studied molecules.
