Synthesis and characterization of V(III), Cr(III) and Fe(III) hippurates

Hippurates of V(III), Cr(III) and Fe(III) were isolated as solids with the general formula; [V(hip)3]$15H2O, [Cr(hip)3]$6H2O and [Fe(hip)3]$1.5H2O. The compounds were characterized from elemental analysis, infrared spectra, 1H NMR, electronic spectra and thermogravimetric analysis and proof that metal–ligand coordination involves only via the carboxylate group. q 2004 Elsevier B.V.
