Abstract :
Three new interesting coordination polymers, [Cu2(m-4,40-bpp)(OAc)4]n (1), [Cu(m-3,30-bpp)(SCN)2]n (2) and [Zn(m-4,40-bpp)2
(dca)2$0.5H2O]n (HdcaZdicyanamide) (3) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Compounds 1–3 consist of different
one-dimensional zigzag chains arising from the different positions of donor atoms (4,40-bpp or 3,30-bpp). Thermogravimetric analyses show
that the three compounds have very similar thermal behaviors and are stable up to about 270 8C. Compound 3 exhibits a blue luminescence
with the emission maximum at ca. 457 nm upon excitation at 370 nm which is assigned to the intraligand emission from 4,40-bpp ligand.
