Abstract :
The valueoffiscaldisciplineisassessedbyanalyzingtheroleoffiscalpolicyasa
transmissionmechanismofoilpriceshocksinoil-exportingsmallopeneconomies.
Fiscalpolicyisanimportantpropagationchannel.Takingpolicyasgivenbythedata,
themodelcansuccessfullyexplaintheresponsesofkeymacroeconomicvariables,butit
is unabletoexplaintheseresponsesundercounterfactualfiscalframeworks.Interest-
ingly,fiscalpolicyalsoseemscapableofregulatingthesizeofpass-through.Further-
more,fiscalpoliciesthatinsulatetheeconomyfromoilpriceshocksseemtobewelfare
