Investigating Metallurgical Properties of 4 Different Stainless Steel Bone Plates

In this study 4 different stainless steel 316L bone plates investigated and compared with each other. Sample 1 which is named as “swiss” had the best situation in comparison with others. Sample 2 which is named “siora” had the worst condition and none of its microscopic structure, chemical composition and mechanical properties were acceptable. There were 2 other samples which their microscopic structure and mechanical properties were acceptable but, their chemical compositions were out of range. Mechanical properties of Samples were investigated by “Charpy impact test”, “Brinell hardness test” and “Tensile test”. Also their structures had been evaluated by “optical microscope” and their chemical compositions obtained by “XRD” tests.
