Algorithmic Blending Original Research Article

An algorithm is given by which one can obtain a 4-sided C1 surface patch. The algorithm can be used to interpolate 4 arbitrary polynomial boundary curves together with corresponding tangent planes. The method presented can be generalized to produce Ck surfaces which are piecewise polynomial of degree 2k + 1 or higher and which interpolate arbitrary Ck boundary information. Furthermore, the method can be used with triangular patches.
