Abstract
A lumped-parameter rainfall-runoff model is used to predict the long-term natural variability of runoff from approximately 100 years of daily rainfall temperature data. Two catchments from the Clarence Basin in Australia illustrate the simplicity and accuracy of the approach which can work quite well even if only two to three years of daily streamflow have been recorded for model calibration.
