Polarization oscillations in aerial fiber caused by wind and power-line current

Polarization fluctuations are measured in a 2*90 km optical fiber encapsulated in the lightning protection cable of a high-voltage transmission line. Results are correlated to the wind speed and to the current in the high-voltage line.
