Abstract :
In this paper we present a thermally stable upscaling scenario for two different exothermic reactions with radical starter. Informations on the upscaling behavior of chemical reactors are very useful for industrial applications (see [1],[6]-[10]). Our analytical approach can support general design parameters without experimental data or numerical simulation and is based only on the structure of the reaction mechanism. There exist already several results for simple model reactions (see[4],[5]). Here we use the method of upscaling balance conditions, introduced in [11], to analyze the upscaling behavior of more complicated reaction mechanisms. We prove that also for these reactions the maximal admissible production rate under thermal stability can grow only proportional to the scaling factor of the length unit in the three dimensional reaction volume.
