Common fixed points for Banach operator pairs with applications Original Research Article

The existence of common fixed point results for a Banach operator pair under certain generalized contractions is established. The invariant best approximation results are proved as applications and the existence of solutions of variational inequalities is obtained. We also study the solution of functional equations arising from dynamic programming.
