Stability analysis of a SIS model with stage structured and distributed maturation delay Original Research Article

We consider a SIS model with stage structure in which the maturation delay is modeled as a distribution, to allow for the possibility that individuals may take different amounts of time to mature. General birth function and incidence rate are used. The basic reproductive number R0R0 to determine whether the disease is extinct or not is found. Furthermore, we obtain sufficient conditions of globally asymptotical stability for the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium.
