Abstract
A generalized Lenard—Balescu equation, which includes longitudinal and transverse interaction in a plasma, is derived from a Green function approach. The collision integral is rewritten in a Fokker—Planck representation, it corresponds to the result of Klimontovich. The classical limit is discussed
