Abstract
Closure hypotheses in kinetic theory constitute a point of comparison between different approaches to describe the behavior of a macroscopic system. The maximum entropy formalism (MEF-I) gives us a way to close the BBGKY hierarchy equations and its discussion is the main objective of this paper.
