Abstract
We have observed spatio-temporal intermitency in two-dimensional patterns obtained from simulations of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation (CGLE) under pinning control. Pinning is applied to selected local sites to control spatio-temporal chaos in slightly disordered systems. We obtained concentric circular patterns, which are stable or in some case intermittent, as a result of this control. Effectiveness of the pinning control strongly depends on the pinning density.
