Abstract
This paper describes some basic processes involved when a DNA molecule faces a pore and gets through. In the simple case considered here, the only driving force is a concentration difference between DNA outside and inside. For plausible conditions, the transfection time (the time required to force one molecule in) is expected to be reasonably short.
