Abstract
Reaction–diffusion systems play a significant role in a variety of physical, chemical and biological processes. In recent years there has been a growing interest in studying spatio-temporal properties of reaction rates and fronts in systems with specific initial and boundary conditions. Very interesting and non-classical results have been found. In this paper we review the recent exotic results in this field, such as anomalous kinetics and segregation at a single trap, and non-monotonic motion of the reaction front in systems with initially separated reactants.
