Abstract :
Novel features of glassy dynamics is found via Monte Carlo simulations in the uniformly frustrated XY model and the lattice Coulomb gas on a square lattice with the frustration parameter . The ground state vortex configuration has infinite degeneracies. It is also found through energy histogram methods that the system exhibits no signature of first-order transitions at low temperatures. Instead, the system exhibits a glassy behavior resembling the primary relaxation of fragile supercooled liquids as evidenced by strong non-Arrhenius (Vogel–Tammann–Fulcher) behavior of the relaxation time. A strong correlation is found between the trend of violation of the Stokes–Einstein relation and the degree of non-exponentiality
