Abstract
The curing of a film of 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxy silane on aluminum was examined for a range of temperatures from 20 to 40°C and relative humidities from 40 to 90%. The results clearly demonstrated that less silane was made adherent as the humidity was increased. The effect became more severe as the temperature was increased. It was also demonstrated that, in this temperature range, the amount of silane that can be made adherent is established within the first 5 min after draining the film.
