Abstract
The adhesion of linoleic acid heated at different temperatures ranging from 220 to 280°C on three different substrates has been investigated. During heating, several chemical modifications of linoleic acid occur and strong adhesion to the substrate develops. In order to obtain quantitative data, a specific adhesion test has been developed. The adhesion of linoleic acid at high temperature can be strongly reduced by using fluoroalkylsilane-treated plates.
