Dual-Band Planar Monopole Antenna Loaded with Rotated Inner Ring of SRRs

ABSTRACT: In this paper, a planardual band monopole antenna loaded with metamaterialis proposed. The metamaterial structures used in this study are based on Split Ring Resonators (SRRs), with rotated inner ring,which can not only create a dual bands monopole antenna but also bring the resonant frequency of monopole element down while the length of the antenna is maintained unchanged.As well as forincreasing the bandwidth of dual band monopole antenna loaded with two SRRs with different angles.This technique allows us to choose any pairs of desired frequency bands and enhanced bandwidth. The idea of bandwidth enhancement is verified via simulation and measurement.
