Study of stem type and different levels of IBA on rooting of Bougainvillea glabra

ABSTRACT: Many of reproducers of ornamental plants use auxin to root cuttings of the plants. But the effect of auxines on cuttings of bougainvillia glabra has not been reported yet, in Iran. Therefore, a research about rooting bougainvillia with the use of IBA hormone over glabra bougainvillia has been done in the green house of Horticulture group of Ilam Agricultural faculty. After selecting mother plants, annual branches of 20-25 cm were used for repairing cutting. (IBA)With o, 2000, and 4000mg concentrations per liter. As well as a control without hormone, was used in this research. The cuttings were immersed in hormone solute for 5 seconds and immediately transmitted to the culture medium. The culture medium contained sand and prelate with average texture. A Factorial experiment was used in a completely Random plan with 4 repeats and 9 treatments. The experiment was compared by means of Duncken multi – range test and then the expected traits were evaluated. The traits were marcotling average percentage, root length, number of root, wet weight of the root. The results from variance analysis and means table showed that the marcotling capability of different treatments differ from each other. The cuttings which were treated by IBA hormone of 4000 mg concentrations per liter showed the most marcotling compared to other Treatments. Number and length of the root, wet weight of the root, were affected in a high extent by auxin treatment and type of the cutting. The different between treatments and the marker was meaning full. The must number of root length , fresh weight of roots, and rooted cuttings were reported to be in treatment of 4000 mg per liter and the different between treatments and the marker was meaningful . The research determined semi – hard wood cutting, the best cutting for rooting of bougainvillia glabra.
