Abstract
Sawdust modified by diethylenetriamine and used as an adsorbent. The structural and morphological study of the synthesized composite was then carried out by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The adsorption characteristics of the modified sawdust were examined by using Methyl Orange dye as an azo anionic dye. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were employed for the study of the adsorption of Methyl Orange onto modified sawdust. Adsorption kinetics of Methyl Orange onto the modified sawdust followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The method was applied for the removal of Methyl Orange in different water samples.
