Abstract
In this study we prove the following theorem: Let q be a prime, q ≡ 3 (mod 4), q ⩾ 7. Let pi, i = 1, …, n be primes, pi ≡ 1 (mod 4). If there exists a Z-cyclic whist tournament on q2 players then there exists a Z-cyclic whist tournament on q2pα11 … pαπ1 players for all αi ⩾ 0. A Z-cyclic Wh(49) is exhibited and specific examples are provided for Z-cyclic Wh(49 · pα11 … pαπ1).
