Abstract :
This research seeks to answer this question, “how is the leadership style in Islamic
management?” The Islamic teachings related to leadership are collected, described and
analyzed by descriptive-analytical method and are based on library technique in data
collection. Basically, leadership style has strong relation with any kind of anthropology. If
we consider a type of inherent dignity for human being, the manner of his leadership and
interaction will be merciful and if we suppose him base and ignoble, the leadership
method is arbitrary and humiliating.
The hypothesis of this research is that leadership method in Islamic management is
merciful; because it is based on the inherent dignity of humans. This method is taken
from what Imam Ali said “a leader should merge the maximum flexibility with minimum
intensity in an organization and when he faces with individuals, shows flexibility and
compromise and when necessary, he shows severity.”
Severity is seen when betrayal, violation and such this happens. Each of the leadership
components has its own indexes and hierarchies. Using the leadership method requires
principles and preparations that the most important of them is tolerance. If this approach
is taken in order to please God, it can also be named "spiritual leadership". This
leadership method is also effective on other management tasks.
