Measurements of the drift force Original Research Article

The lift coefficient on an object in a weak shear flow is predicted to equal the added mass coefficient. Measurements of both of these coefficients were made for objects of several sizes with three different shapes and were found to agree. CFD simulations confirmed some features of the theory.
