Low speed penetration in solids Original Research Article

Results of static and dynamic penetration test of flat, conical and bullet shaped cylinders of three different diameters on both fragile and ductile target media are presented. Empirical and theoretical expressions for the variation of the penetration force with the penetrations depth are given and the influence of the various governing factors discussed.
