Abstract :
n this research, a simple, inexpensive and efficient preconcentration method was developed using two-phase hollow fiber based liquid phase microextraction (HF-LPME) for determination of trace amounts of copper by UV-vis Spectrophotometer. In this study, trace amounts of cupperic ions (Cu II) were reduced to cupperous (Cu I) through addition of hydroxyl amine hydrochloride to the solution. The Cu (I) ions were formed coloured complex with neocuproine reagent and were preconcentrated using two phase hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction. The measurement of extracted analytes was carried out using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Optimization of main effective parameters was done using central composite design method as an orthogonal array design (OAD). Under optimal conditions, the calibration curve was linear in the range of 1.1 – 500 ?g L-1 with reasonable linearity (R2 > 0.992). The limit of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) were obtained as 0.3 ?g L-1 and 1.1 ?g L-1, respectively. Besides, under the optimum conditions, the relative standard deviation (RSD%) of method was lower than 8.7% .
