A new application of particle swarm optimization in optimal control of constrained piecewise affine system

In this paper, we consider the solution to optimal control problems for constrained piecewise affine systems based on model predictive control and then use particle swarm optimization algorithm to complexity reduction of solution and modify the system performance. In fact the aim of the paper is twofold. First we consider the theoretical results on the structure of the control law. Second we describe how the complexity of deriving control law can be efficiently reduced and improve system performance simultaneously by using particle swarm optimization. The considered algorithm is applied to a valid physical system and result is presented to illustrate our algorithm advantages.
