Abstract :
he boundary integral method utilised in [1] for investigating the lifting flow past airfoils with non-vanishing trailing edge angle is adjusted herein (by imposing a different Kutta-Joukovsky condition) in order to study the incompressible inviscid flow past airfoils with cusped trailing edge.
Using a linear interpolation for the normal derivative of the perturbation stream function, we reduce by discretization the integral representation of the perturbation stream function to an algebraic system. The solutions of this system are used in order to calculate the distribution of the tangential velocity and pressure coefficient over the airfoil.
Comparison between calculated and analytical values of the pressure coefficient for a Joukovsky and a Von Mises profile show very good agreement.
