Abstract :
A Galerkin/Least-Squares formulation using equal order serendipity velocity-pressure elements is used in conjunction with a low-Reynolds number k–ϵ model to solve a turbulent Poiseuille type flow at Re=5000. Predictions are compared to available experimental results. The pressure solution obtained using the GLS formulation is in close agreement with the measurements. This work illustrates that the GLS formulation can be extended successfully to predict the pressure solution for the case of incompressible turbulent flows.
