Abstract :
In this work is described an efficient procedure to analyse two dimensional viscoelastic coupling problems. The coupling between the finite element method and the boundary element method is based on the sub-regions technique. The viscous behaviour is taken into account by rheological constitutive relations properly imposed in the development of the integral representations. After imposing the space approximations, applying kinematical relations, the time integration is carried out using appropriate operators. The Kelvin–Voigt viscoelastic model is implemented in order to validate the idea. The approach allows applying, in an easy way, external loads and boundary condition which change along time. In order to demonstrate the robustness of the technique, examples are presented in the end of this work.
