Abstract
Theprimaryandsecondarycircuitsofnuclearpowerplantshavedifferentwaterchemistries,corrosionproductsources,temperaturesandflowrates.Alltheseparameterspromotethegrowthordepositionofoxidesofdifferentcompositionsandmorphologiesonthesurfacesofthesteamgenerator(S.G.)tubes.Thispaperpresentsamethodologytoevaluatetherelativecontributionstothetotalheattransferresistanceduetothedifferentoxidelayers.ThevaluesobtainedfromasampleofAlloy800tubeatroomtemperaturearesimilartothoseencounteredintheopenliteratureathightemperatures.Importantfutureplanningguidelinesfordecontaminationand/orchemicalcleaningofS.G.unitscanbeobtainedfromtheseresults.
