Abstract :
Amulti-shellanalysismethodhasbeenappliedtopredicttheThermal–hydraulicsinasteamgeneratorofaliquidmetalreactor.Themethodisintendedtoimprovethecalculationaccuracyfortemperatureprofilesatawiderangeofheatexchangeratesinalargesizedsteamgeneratorforthefutureplant.Thecalculationaccuracyhasbeenexaminedusingexperimental50MWthsteamgeneratortestdatathatweremeasuredduring1970ʹs–1980ʹs.Thecalculationresultsoftemperatureprofileswerecomparedwithexperimentaldataat20,30,50,75,90,and100%ofnominaloperatingcondition.Responsesforthestepwiseflowratevariationswerealsoevaluated.Inconclusion,thecalculationaccuracyforthetemperatureprofileinthesteamgeneratorwasimprovedbyusingthemulti-shellanalysismethodforawiderangeofheatexchangerates.
