Abstract :
Convergenceproblemsassociatedwiththeiterationofadjointequationsbasedontwo-groupneutrondiffusiontheoryapproximationsinslabgeometryareconsidered.Forthispurposefirst-ordervariationaltechniquesareadoptedtominimisenumericalerrorsinvolved.Theimportanceofderivingtheadjointsourcefromabreedingratioisillustrated.Theresultsobtainedareconsistentwiththeexpectedimprovementinaccuracy.
