Abstract
Thispaperpresentstwoindependentdynamicmodelsofanucleargasturbinepowerplant.Boththehightemperaturenuclearreactor(HTR)anditsenergyconversionsystem(ECS)basedonadirectBraytoncyclehavebeenmodelled.OnemodelutilisesRELAP5fortheECS,theotherAspenCustomModeler(ACM).Thereactormodelusedinbothmodelsisapointkineticmodelderivedfromadetailedreactormodel.TheECSmodelisdescribedandcomparedcomponentwise,withanemphasisontheturbomachinery.Thetotalplantmodelsarecomparedwitheachotherbycalculatingtworepresentativetransients:oneloadrejectiontransientandonetransientwiththesystematpartload.
