Abstract :
Withinthe5thEuratomframeworkprogrammetheNACUSPprojectfocusesonnatural-circulationandstabilitycharacteristicsofBoilingWaterReactors(BWRs).Thispapergivesanoverviewoftheresearchtobeperformed.Moreover,itshowsthefirstresultsobtainedbyoneofthefourexperimentalfacilitiesinvolved.Stabilityboundariesaregivenforthelow-powerlow-pressureoperatingrange,measuredintheCIRCUSfacility.TheexperimentsaremeanttoserveasafuturevalidationdatabaseforthermohydraulicsystemcodestobeappliedforthedesignandoperationofBWRs.
