Abstract :
Theinfluenceofchangingthepositionofthefeedwaterspargeronthethermal-hydraulicstabilityofnatural-circulationboilingwaterreactors(BWRs)isinvestigated.Frequency-domain,linearstabilityanalysisisappliedusingareduced-orderdynamicmodel.Itisfoundthatthephasewithwhichthetemperatureoscillations,createdatthefeedwatersparger,reachthecoreinlethasasignificantinfluenceonthestability.Thisphaseisinfluencedbythepositionofthesparger.Itisshownthatmovingthespargertothecoreinlethasastabilisinginfluence.Similarresultisfoundusingthethermal-hydrauliccodeMONA.
