Abstract :
ThedesignofaGasTurbine–ModularHeliumReactor(GT-MHR)of600MWtpowerisbeingdevelopedinframesof“TheAgreementbetweentheGovernmentoftheUnitedStatesofAmericaandtheGovernmentoftheRussianFederationonScientificandTechnicalCooperationintheManagementofPlutoniumThatHasBeenWithdrawnfromNuclearMilitaryPrograms”signedonJuly24,1998.Thereactorconceptisbasedonthedeepburnupofinitiallyloadedplutoniumfuelatitssingleuseincoreandthesubsequentdisposalofthespentfuelwithoutadditionalprocessing.
