Abstract :
Forreactorphysicscalculationsformodularpebblebedreactorsprogramsystemsandnucleardatahavetobeusedtogetreliableresultsforimportantoperationalandsafetyrelatedparameters.ForcylindricalorannularcoregeometrysuchparameterscanbecalculatedwiththemodularprogramsystemZIRKUSandadditionallywithcommonreactorphysicsprogramsbasedonSNandMonteCarlotheory.ThemodulesoftheZIRKUSsystemweredevelopedbyFramatomeANPGmbHandextensivelyusedfordesigncalculationsforthe200MWelHTR-MODULandverifiedbymeansofexperimentsandoperationaldatamainlyfromAVR.ThemodelsusedinZIRKUSwillbedescribedanddiscussedfortypicaldesigncalculationsforHTRpebblebedreactors.
