Abstract :
TheHighTemperatureEngineeringTestReactor(HTTR)canprovideverylargeirradiationspacesathightemperaturesforvariousirradiationtests.ThefirstirradiationtestrigfortheHTTR,theI–Itypeirradiationequipment,wasdevelopedforanin-pilecreeptestonastainlesssteelwithlargestandardsizespecimens.Theequipmentusestheambienthightemperatureofthecorefortheirradiationtemperaturecontrol.Thetargetirradiationtemperaturesare550and600°Cwiththetargettemperaturedeviationof±3°C.Inthisstudy,thespecimentemperaturestabilityattheirradiationtestwasassessedbybothanalyticalandexperimentalapproaches.Theirradiationtemperaturechangesattransientconditionswereanalyzedbyafiniteelementmethod(FEM)codeandthetemperaturecontrollabilityoftheequipmentwasexaminedbyamockuptest.ThecontrollabilitywasevaluatedwiththemeasuredtemperaturetransientdataatthecoregraphitecomponentsintheRise-to-PowertestsoftheHTTR.TheresultindicatesthatthetemperaturecontrolmethodoftheI–Itypeirradiationequipmentiseffectivetokeeptheirradiationtemperaturestableintheirradiationtest.
