Abstract :
Theexistingresultsoftheimpactmodelforacylindricalprojectilearemodified.Thematerialconstantassociatedwiththeimpactmodelisinverselydeterminedfromthegivenweardepthandnumberofimpacts.Theweardepthorwearvolumeinthenear-distantfutureisestimatedfromthematerialconstantusingthepresentwearstatus.Theresultsarecomparedwithmeasureddepthsofasteamgeneratortubeinanuclearpowerplant.Theresultsshowthatpredictedweardepthenvelopsthemeasureddepth.Itcanbeconcludedthatthemethodsemployedinthepresentpapercanbeappliedtothepredictionofweardepthfromagivenstatusofwearatthepresenttime.
