Abstract :
AproceduretoevaluatethestructuralintegrityofareactorvesselunderCDAconditionhasbeendevelopedbasedonsimulativeexperimentsunderCDAloadingusing1/20-and1/10-scalesteelmodelsofthedemonstrationFBRinJapan(DFBR).Fortheexperiments,aconstantpressuresourcehasbeendevelopedusingagasaccumulator.SimulationanalyseswerealsoconductedusingthedynamicanalysisprogramAUTODYN-2D,whichcansimulatefluid-structureinteractionandnon-linearmaterialbehaviourintwo-dimensionalgeometry.Theactualdynamicmaterialproperties,whosestrainrateswerefrom0.1to10s−1,wereusedintheanalyses.Thepressurehistoryandthedynamicresponseofstructureswerecomparedbetweenexperimentalresultsandtheanalysis,andtheappropriatenessofthenumericalanalyticalmethodfortheCDAproblemwasconfirmed.Inbothexperimentalandnumericalapproaches,theeffectofinternalstructureshasbeeninvestigated,andadrasticstrainreductionwasobservedowingtotheenergyabsorptionbyinternalstructures.Furthermore,materialtestsandelementtestsincludingweldjointtestsandbursttestswerecarriedouttodefinearationalisedstrainlimitundermulti-axialdynamicloadingcondition.Usingthedevelopedevaluationprocedure,apreliminaryevaluationforDFBRwascarriedoutandtherobustnessofthereactorboundaryinDFBRagainstCDAloadingwasalsoconfirmed.
