Abstract :
Thispaperdealswiththelow-cyclefatigue(LCF)designofweldedstructures,theaimbeingthecriticalanalysisoftheruleusedintheRCC-MR[DesignandconstructionrulesformechanicalcomponentsofFBRnuclearislands,AFCEN,1993],forthedesignandconstructionoffastbreederreactors.Thestudytakesintoaccounttheevolutionofthematerialbehaviorlawsanddamageaccumulationduringthefatigueloading.Theadoptedmodelconsistsofanalyzingseparatelythebehaviorandthedamageevolutions.Itallowsustodeterminethedamageratiocorrespondingtoinitiationandpropagationofasignificantcrackinordertodeterminethelifeduration.Thismodelsuggeststheexistenceofathresholdlevelofloading,abovewhichmicro-cracksinitiate.Theinitiationfatiguelifecanthenbeneglectedbelowthethresholdlevel.ThisworkshowsalsothattheRCC-MRrulesarevalidbelowthisthresholdloadlevel.
