Abstract :
Thenatural-circulationcharacteristicsandthedensity-wavestabilitycharacteristicsofthenatural-circulationFreon-12facilityDESIREforaspecificconfigurationhavebeendeterminedbysystematicallyperformingexperimentsinthewholeoperatingrange.Alargeamountofdatahasbeengatheredtobeusedforfuturebenchmarkingofcomputercodesforthecalculationofboilingwaterreactor(BWR)stability.Contrarytoexpectations,itwasfoundthat,forlowsubcoolingvalues,thestabilityofthefacilityimprovesasthepowerisincreasedwhenkeepingthesubcoolingnumberconstant.Thisresultcanserveasachallengingbenchmarkformodelsandcodes,sinceitisnotinlinewiththeexperiencefromthemajorityofanalyticalandnumericalmodels.
