Abstract :
Thisstudyisconcernedwithcrackopeningdisplacements(CODs)ofcylinderswithacircumferentialthrough-wallcrackwhichissubjectedtotensileandthrough-wallbendingloads.AseriesofFEManalyseswereperformedinvariousscaledcylinders,andthenthepresentresultsontheCODswerecomparedwiththepreviousstudies.Especially,thecrackopeningbehaviorsofthelargescaledcylindersunderamembranestressandathrough-wallbendingstresswerecharacterizedevidentlyinthisstudy.Thepresentresultsareexpectedtobevalidfortheleakageevaluationofstructureswhichissubjectedtointernalpressureandthermaldistribution.
