Abstract :
Theelasto-plasticbehaviorofapipesubjectedtoasteadyaxialforceandacyclicbendingmomentisstudied.Byusingtwoparameterscandd,whichdescribetheelasto-plasticinterfacesofbeamcross-section,theboundarycurveequationsbetweenvarioustypesofelasto-plasticbehavior,suchasshakedown,plasticfatigue,ratcheting,andplasticcollapse,arederived.Theresultsareapplicableforbeamsofanycross-sectionwithtwoorthogonalaxesofsymmetry.Asaresult,theloadregimediagramforapipeisobtained,whichgivesanintuitivepictureoftheelasto-plasticbehaviorofthepipeunderagivencombinationofconstantaxialloadandcyclicbendingmoment.
