Abstract :
Flow-inducedvibrationisanimportantconcerntothedesignersofheatexchangerssubjectedtohighflowsofgasesorliquids.Two-phasecross-flowoccursinindustrialheatexchangers,suchasnuclearsteamgenerators,condensers,andboilers,etc.Undercertainflowregimesandfluidvelocities,thefluidforcesresultintubevibrationanddamageduetofrettingandfatigue.Predictionoftheseforcesrequiresanunderstandingoftheflowregimesfoundinheatexchangertubebundles.Excessivevibrationsundernormaloperatingconditionscanleadtotubefailure.
