  • Abstract
    Theinter-comparativeanalysisofthedeterministicsafetypotentialofinnovativemoltensaltsystemswithcriticalandsub-criticalcoresispresentedforbothfastandthermalneutronspectra.Theanalysisincludestwoaspects:thechoiceofaninitiallevelofsub-criticalityandthestudyofmultipleunprotectedtransientswhichhavebeensimulatedonthebasisofone-pointkineticsandtwo-pointthermo-hydraulicschemesconsideringrealisticfeedbackeffects.Ourpreliminaryresultsshowthatevensmalllevelsofsub-criticality(2–3dollars)ofcorescanimprovetheirsafetycharacteristicssignificantly.
