Abstract :
Measurementscarriedoutinanoriginal-sizeVVER-1000mock-up(V-1000facility,KurchatovInstitute,Moscow)wereusedforthevalidationofthree-dimensionalneutron-kineticcodes,designedforVVERsafetycalculations.ThesignificantneutronfluxtiltmeasuredintheV-1000core,whichiscausedonlybyradial-reflectorasymmetries,wassuccessfullymodeled.Agoodagreementbetweencalculatedandmeasuredsteady-statepowershasbeenachieved,forrelativeassemblypowersandinner-assemblypinpowerdistributions.Calculatedeffectivemultiplicationfactorsexceedunityinallcases.Thetimebehaviouroflocalpowers,measuredduringtwotransientsthatwereinitiatedbycontrolrodmovinginaslightlysuper-criticalcore,hasbeenwellsimulatedbytheneutron-kineticcodes.
